Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)

Course Overview

The Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) is designed for professionals who lead learning and development within organisations. This advanced qualification equips you with the strategic skills to design, implement, and manage impactful learning programs that build organisational capability.

You’ll develop the ability to generate and evaluate complex ideas, manage teams, and take full accountability for results. Ideal for current or aspiring leaders, this course supports career growth into roles such as RTO Manager, Learning & Development Leader, or Organisational Capability Director.

  • Be at least 18 years of age  
  • Have completed a Diploma level qualification or above from the BSB Training Package, or equivalent  
  • Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs
  • Have an IELTS* score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
  1. Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country
  2. Successful completion of an English Placement Test at IELTS level 6.0.

Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. You are required to provide your results so that we can confirm they are equivalent to IELTS 6.0. 

Resource Requirements

  • Access to a computer (with Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word and a web browser)
  • Access to the Internet
  • 2 GB or more of RAM (8 GB recommended)
  • Hard disk space of 4 GB or more of available hard-disk space for 64-bit installation; additional free space required during installation.
  • To be awarded the BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning), competency must be achieved with total of Eight (8) units, consisting of:

    • Three (3) Core Units
    • Five (5) Elective Units

    The selected elective units will provide learners with a well-rounded unit combination aligned to current industry requirements and the qualification level.

    There are no pre-requisite units for this qualification.

    Elective units have been selected by the College in consultation with industry experts.

After achieving this qualification, students may continue their studies in a higher education qualification in management or leadership.

This course is delivered through face-to-face training and assessment, as well as through online learning. 

You are required to attend classes on campus for 14 hours per week, as well as complete 6 hours per week of scheduled and supervised online learning via a web-based software for 80 study weeks (8 terms of 10 weeks each). Holiday breaks are 24 weeks in total and the timing of these breaks will be advised in your timetable when you start your course.

In addition to face-to-face training and assessment and scheduled and supervised online learning, you will also need to complete approximately 5 hours of additional, unsupervised study per week which includes research for assessments, completion of Self-study Guides and general reading.

You will also need to complete assessments for this course which may include:  

  • Written questions 
  • Projects  
  • Presentations 
  • Reports 
  • Role plays/observations. 

At the beginning of each unit, your trainer and assessor will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed. 

Your classes will be conducted in modern classrooms, and you will be able to access Wi-Fi. There are also areas for you to relax, as well as conduct additional study.   

You will be provided with a Student Guide relevant to each unit in your course.
